AVAILABLE ANIMALS

Please Note: We Do Not Ship Animals

Thinking of Adopting?

Unlike dogs and cats, reptiles require specialized care and may not be suitable for everyone. The animals we have taken in have all either been abused in some way or given up because they were no longer wanted. These animals deserve the chance to live a long healthy life in a forever home. Therefore, all of our volunteers are dedicated to making sure these animals go to the right home, who is ready, willing and able to properly care for them for life.

ADOPTION PROCESS...

  • Fill out an adoption application completely, your answers should include brands and as much info as possible.

  • We will take a few days to check your application before we contact you to move forward.

  • You will then be asked for photos of your current animals and enclosures and/or photos of the enclosure you plan to use for the new animal. This is how we do our virtual house checks now. It is important for us to see how you keep your current animals. No one will be approved without this step. This does not mean you need to set up an enclosure before applying, but it will be required before you pickup an animal.

  • Based on photos and application answers, you will be approved or denied.

  • If approved, you MUST have a proper set up ready before taking home an animal.

  • At adoption, you will need to sign the adoption contract which includes a NO BREEDING and NO SELLING clause.

  • There is an adoption fee to help with our expenses. The fee is listed on each animal's bio below.

  • We are happy to adopt out of state but you MUST drive here to get the animal, no animals are ever shipped.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER FOR EMAILS FROM THE RESCUE! EMAILS WILL ALWAYS COME FROM FRESHSTARTRESCUEINC@GMAIL.COM OR INFO@FRESHSTARTRESCUEINC.ORG

Click on the Sponsor US button to set up a recurring monthly sponsorship of any of our adoptable or ambassador animals. Each of these reptiles are given an initial evaluation, some undergo fecal tests and vet care, and then each of them requires a proper diet, heat bulbs, uvb lighting, enrichment, and more. Sponsoring an adoptable animal helps ease the financial burden on the rescue, and allows us to spend more time caring for the animals and less time worrying about fundraising.

We use GiveButter for all our recurring donations. Please Read the instructions carefully before submitting your payment.  Your sponsorship continues monthly until you cancel it.

GECKOS

Geky - Leopard Gecko

  • Geky is a mellow male leopard gecko whose exact age is unknown, but we know he was already over 3 years old when he came to us—so he's definitely a grown-up guy. He originally came from one home, then another, and eventually landed here when his most recent owner went off to college. Now he’s looking for a stable, permanent place to call home.

Geky is a little picky with food, but he’s getting better. He’s also still working on his comfort with handling—not defensive, just a little unsure—but he’s making good progress with regular, gentle interaction.

Like all leopard geckos, Geky is most active in the afternoons and enjoys relaxing in his hides and exploring when things are quiet. He will need a proper habitat with UVB lighting, stable heat, and a patient adopter who understands that building trust takes time.

If you're looking for a calm, slightly shy companion with lots of potential, Geky might be the perfect little housemate.

Rocket - Leopard Gecko

  • Rocket has been through a lot—but he’s come out the other side as a sweet, gentle gecko who’s ready for a forever home that can keep up with his special care.

He came to us in rough shape, suffering from severely impacted hemipenes and a nasty eye infection. While recovering, poor Rocket even dropped his tail, but like a true champ, he pushed through it all. It took months to fully clear up his eyes, and while he’s doing great now, he may have recurring issues in the future that will require close monitoring.

Despite everything, Rocket is incredibly well-mannered, calm, and eager at mealtime. He loves to eat and handles well—he just needs an experienced adopter who can provide good UVB and humidity and can keep an eye on his health.

If you’ve got the heart and experience to care for a gecko with a bit of a medical past (and a big appetite), Rocket is ready to win you over—one bug at a time.

Leo - Leopard Gecko

  • Leo is a lovely 5-year-old female leopard gecko who’s found herself back in our care through no fault of her own. She was adopted a few years ago and is now looking for a second chance at a forever home. While she’s currently a bit timid with handling, we believe she’ll settle back in beautifully once she has time to adjust to a new family.

Like all leopard geckos, Leo is most active in the afternoons, spending much of her day tucked away in a cozy hide and emerging when things quiet down. She has a gentle demeanor and would do well in a calm home with someone willing to take things at her pace.

Leo will need a proper habitat setup that includes UVB lighting, warm and cool hides, and a healthy diet of insects. With the right care, leopard geckos can live 20+ years, so Leo still has plenty of time to thrive in a loving home.

If you’re ready to offer patience, consistency, and a cozy corner of your heart, Leo could be the perfect little companion.

Pork Chop - Leopard Gecko

  • Pork Chop is a 4-year-old male leopard gecko who came from a rough past but has kept his gentle little heart intact. He’s shy at first, but once he realizes you come bearing snacks, he’ll warm right up — this boy LOVES a good bug buffet.

Despite everything he’s been through, Pork Chop is sweet, calm, and ready for a fresh start. He’s looking for a home where he can finally be spoiled the way he deserves — cozy hides, good food, and someone patient and caring to show him that life can be soft and safe.

If you’ve got a tender spot for the quiet, resilient types, Pork Chop might be your perfect little companion.

Mushu - Leopard Gecko

  • Mushu is a 6-year-old female leopard gecko who loves her quiet time and takes "low-key" to expert levels. Like most leopard geckos, she’ll spend her daylight hours tucked away in a hide, but when the lights dim and food shows up? Mushu perks right up!

She’s a little squirmy with handling, so she’ll need a patient adopter willing to work with her gently and consistently. That said, she’s very enthusiastic about food and is always excited when snacks are involved.

Leopard geckos like Mushu can live 20+ years with proper care. We do require a UVB setup for all leopard gecko adoptions to support long-term health. Mushu would do best in a calm environment with plenty of cozy hides, gentle interaction, and a patient person who can help her feel secure.

If you're ready to bond with a beautiful little bug-eater who’s got her shy moments but a big appetite, Mushu could be your perfect nighttime pal.

Buddy - Leopard Gecko

  • Buddy is a 5-year-old leopard gecko who came in with some pretty tough medical issues: an eye infection and impacted hemipenes. His previous owner tried her best but wasn’t able to keep up with the care he needed due to her own health struggles.

Fast-forward to now, and Buddy is doing fantastic. His eyes are clear, and he’s back to being a happy little bug-powered leo. He’s incredibly sweet, easy to handle, and full of that quiet charm leopard geckos are famous for.

Buddy’s story is one of resilience, good care, and a whole lot of heart. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can enjoy a healthy, easy life — full of warmth, snacks, and someone who appreciates just how special he is.

Tango - Leopard Gecko

  • Tango is a 3-year-old male leopard gecko with a mellow vibe and excellent manners. He’s very easy to handle, making him a great choice for someone looking for a calm and cooperative companion.

While Tango isn’t a big eater, he maintains a healthy weight and knows what he likes—he just doesn’t believe in rushing through a meal. He enjoys lounging in his enclosure, exploring at his own pace, and being gently handled by his human admirers.

As with all leopard geckos, Tango will need a proper setup with UVB lighting, appropriate heat, and a healthy insect-based diet. With a lifespan of 20+ years, he’s still just getting started!

If you’re looking for a laid-back gecko with great manners and a steady personality, Tango could be the perfect match.

Fat Tail Gecko

  • This lovely African fat-tailed gecko is about 4 years old and came to us after being left behind when her owner moved out. Thankfully, a kind roommate brought her in so she could actually get the care she needed. She arrived with stuck shed and an injury on her tail, but she’s healed beautifully and is doing wonderfully now.

She’s incredibly shy and extremely picky about her bugs (we respect a girl with standards), but once she feels safe, she’s as sweet and gentle as they come. She’s adorable, calm, and just looking for someone patient who can appreciate her quiet charm.

And since she arrived nameless, she’s waiting for the perfect forever family to give her a name that fits her soft personality and fresh new start.

BEARDED DRAGONS

HEALTH WARNING***** As of 2023, all bearded dragons are being tested for Atadenovirus (ADV) upon intake. This is, unfortunately, common in captive bearded dragons now, but it is still contagious to any beardie that may be negative. This disease can cause liver damage over the years and a shortened lifespan; however, some dragons can also live a full life without ever developing issues. Some owners do have positive beardies in their homes with negative beardies, but it requires very strict precautions to make sure the virus does not spread. We cannot guarantee positive beardies won't develop health issues related to the virus or from having a compromised immune system.

***** All bearded dragons who have tested negative are not guaranteed to be negative. It is possible that the beardie was not shedding the virus in the sample tested. For a true negative, the beardie will need to be tested 2-3 times over the span of a few months. If several tests come back negative, you can assume they are actually negative.

Nessie

  • Don’t let the age fool you — Nessie has absolutely no idea he’s a “senior.” This guy is bursting with energy, opinions, and an unshakable sense of self-importance. He came to us when his former humans realized that frequent work travel just didn’t mesh with the needs of a full-time lizard king.

Nessie is a proud, black-bearded machine who reacts to basically everything with dramatic flair. You, a leaf, a shadow, his own reflection? They all get the beard. He demands to be the only dragon in the kingdom — no roommates, no rivals, no sharing his humans.

If you’re looking for a lively little lizard with a big personality and zero tolerance for disrespect (real or imagined), Nessie’s your guy. Throne (i.e., proper enclosure), heat lamp, and loyal subjects required.

Nessie is positive for ADV but shows no signs of illness

Dexter

  • Meet Dexter, a healthy, handsome bearded dragon with a strong personality and zero interest in being your cuddle buddy—at least not yet. At around 3 years old, he’s in the prime of his “teenage lizard” phase and has big opinions about being handled (spoiler: he’s not a fan).

Dexter is super active, eats like a champ, and spends his days running laps around his enclosure like he’s training for the Olympics. He won’t aggressively come after you (well… usually), but he’ll absolutely run, puff, and gape if you try to pick him up. Once in your hands, he’ll flatten like a drama queen and open his mouth in protest. It’s mostly bluff—but he really commits to it.

With time, consistency, and the right kind of patient, experienced owner, Dexter should mellow out as most beardies do with age. He just needs someone who can work with him respectfully and isn’t expecting a lap lizard on day one.

If you’re looking for a healthy, high-energy dragon with loads of personality and you’ve got the patience to help him reach his potential, Dexter might be your guy. Just don’t take it personally when he gives you the stink-eye.

Dexter is positive for ADV but shows no sign of illness currently.

Demarest

  • Demarest didn’t just arrive—she made an entrance. This bold girl was found running loose as a stray, and while her adventure cost her part of a foot, it didn’t slow her down one bit. She moves around just fine, keeps a strong appetite, and has big opinions about anything that enters her space (Hint: she thinks it’s food).

Demarest is highly food motivated and believes everything should be inspected for snack potential—including fingers. While she’s not aggressive, she’s quick and enthusiastic when it’s mealtime, so we recommend a home without small children or with adults who understand proper boundaries. Once she’s out of her enclosure, she’s much more relaxed—she’ll tolerate a few minutes of cuddling, but then she’s off to explore like the queen she is.

Demarest would thrive in a home where she can be spoiled with heat, snacks, and the spotlight. She’s got personality, presence, and just the right amount of sass.

Looking for a lizard who rules her domain with a regal side-eye and a healthy appetite? Demarest is ready for her throne.

Demarest did test negative for ADV twice.

Ziggy

  • Ziggy is a young bearded dragon, under 2 years old, with a lot of personality packed into her round little body. She has a special situation: she can’t use her back legs and needs a little help when it’s bathroom time. Despite this, she gets around in her own unique way and has plenty of spunk to share.

She’s not a fan of salads (classic Ziggy) but will absolutely light up at the sight of bugs. Because she can’t climb or navigate complex setups safely, she needs a simple enclosure with minimal obstacles — the fewer things she can topple off, the better.

If you’re looking for a young, lively dragon who thrives with gentle care and a little extra attention, Ziggy is ready to meet someone patient, loving, and excited to give her a safe, happy home.

Ziggy has tested negative for ADV one time, she will need to be tested again.

Onslow

  • Onslow is a feisty little bearded dragon with a story as colorful as her attitude. She was found running loose in someone’s yard in Onslow County and came to us through animal control. During her quarantine, she surprised us all by laying a ton of eggs—talk about making an entrance!

Onslow can be a bit spicy and needs plenty of work with handling and socialization. We don’t know much about her past, but she’s definitely got a strong personality and isn't shy about showing it. The good news? She’s highly food motivated, which makes working with her a bit easier (and way more fun).

If you’re experienced with bearded dragons and ready for a little spirited company who’s eager to earn her treats, Onslow could be the perfect project—and companion—for you.

She is positive for ADV but shows no signs of illness.

Coconut

  • Coconut is a tiny, gentle soul with a big love for basking and bug snacks. At around 5 years old, she’s much smaller than the average bearded dragon due to improper lighting during her early years—but don’t let her size fool you: she’s full of quiet charm.

Coconut is a bit shy and still learning that people aren’t so scary. She’s not aggressive or defensive—just cautious. With time and patient interaction, she could become a confident little companion. For now, she’s happiest perched on her basking platform, watching the world go by like a scaly little queen.

While Coconut isn’t a huge fan of salads (who can blame her?), she never turns down a good insect. She’ll thrive in a calm home with proper lighting, heat, and someone who understands the slower pace of building trust with a more reserved dragon.

If you're looking for a sweet, low-drama lizard who just wants a sunny spot and some snacks, Coconut might be your perfect little perch potato.

Ernie - Sand Skink

  • Ernie is a tiny, wiggly mystery who lives for the thrill of the hide. At just around 2 years old, this adorable little sand skink spends 99% of his time buried like a living secret — but don’t let that fool you. He’s got plenty of personality... if you can find it.

He loves insects and will gladly take them from tongs — assuming you can figure out which patch of sand he’s lurking under. Not familiar with sand skinks? Think tiny desert submarine — they spend most of their lives cruising under the sand and popping up for snacks.

Ernie will need a warm, dry, sandy setup with UVB lighting to keep him healthy and happy.

Low-key, low-maintenance, and seriously cute, Ernie’s perfect for someone who appreciates the quiet joys of a burrowing buddy.

Mali Uromastyx

  • This charming desert dweller came to us two years ago after a breakup left him in need of a new home — and he's been putting in the work ever since. For the past two years, he’s served as a proud ambassador for his species, teaching everyone he meets just how awesome (and underrated) a Uromastyx really is. Now, after a solid career in outreach, he's ready for a well-deserved retirement in a calm, loving forever home.

He’s about 5 years old, loves his salad, and has strong opinions about which veggies are worth his time. Dry seeds and lentils? Pass. Squash? Meh. Fresh leafy greens? Yes, please. While he's not a fan of being handled, he’ll happily lounge under his heat lamp and keep a judgmental eye on your salad prep from a distance.

If you’ve got a warm, spacious setup and a passion for lizard-specific salad presentation, this mellow little sun worshiper might be the perfect addition to your life.

Ruby - Uromastyx Geyri

  • Ruby is a striking female Saharan uromastyx (Uromastyx geyri) with bold coloration and a dignified demeanor. Estimated to be between 7 and 9 years old, she came to us after being well cared for by a previous owner, who adopted her as an adult from a breeder. Ruby has a noticeable scar on one arm from a past injury, but it doesn’t affect her mobility or behavior.

She’s not interested in being handled and strongly prefers to be admired from a distance (queen behavior, honestly). Ruby is active in her enclosure, enjoys basking, and loves to dig and rearrange her space. While she has a healthy appetite, she is particular about her food—especially with seeds and lentils, which she will often turn down in favor of fresh greens and more familiar items.

Uromastyx are a species that require advanced care, including very high basking temperatures, strong UVB lighting, and a carefully monitored herbivorous diet. With a potential lifespan of 15–20+ years, Ruby is looking for a knowledgeable, committed home that can meet her unique needs and respect her independent nature.

If you’re an experienced reptile keeper ready to give Ruby the space, heat, and greens she needs, she’ll bring a steady and fascinating presence to your home.

BALL PYTHONS

Piglet

  • Piglet is a 3-year-old female ball python who’s as adorable as her name suggests. She’s a fantastic eater—never one to turn down a frozen/thawed meal—and thrives on a regular feeding schedule.

When it comes to handling, Piglet can be a little shy at first--she just prefers a gentle, patient approach. With time and calm interaction, she’s likely to become a confident and relaxed companion.

Ball pythons like Piglet can live 30+ years, so she’s still in the early stages of what could be a very long, peaceful partnership. She’ll need a proper setup with stable temps, humidity, and a cozy place to feel secure.

If you’re looking for a quiet, well-behaved ball python who just needs a little time to come out of her shell, Piglet could be the perfect match.

Celeste

  • Meet Celeste: a stunning, sleek 10-year-old ball python with a real zest for life—and for snacks. She’s not what we’d call aggressive… but let’s just say she has strong culinary interests, and she occasionally mistakes fingers for frozen rats. Oops.

Celeste is an active, curious snake who’s always out and about in her enclosure. She’s got the personality of an extrovert and the appetite of a vacuum. Because of her enthusiasm for food (and, occasionally, humans), she’s best suited for an experienced keeper who can read snake behavior and owns a long pair of feeding tongs.

She’s currently on frozen/thawed rats, but let’s be honest—she’d probably try to eat a sandwich if you left one too close. Sex is unconfirmed, but what we do know is this: Celeste is beautiful, bold, and built for a bigger enclosure, where she can stretch out, explore, and plot her next meal in peace.

If you love a confident, curious snake with a tiny bit of chaos energy, Celeste is ready to steal your heart… and maybe your hand.

Ball 5

  • Ball 5 may not have a real name yet, but he’s already earned a reputation as one of the sweetest snakes in our care. This adult-sized ball python came to us after being abandoned—along with several others—in a rental property. He arrived under multiple layers of stuck shed, but after some much-needed TLC, he’s now shedding properly and handling beautifully.

While we don’t have any background or age information, Ball 5 is clearly an adult and is in good condition. He’s a gentle and shy snake who handles very well. Like some other ball pythons, he’s also a picky eater—his favorite meal is frozen/thawed chicks, though he will occasionally accept an ASF rat. He rarely strikes at it but will always take your food offering when left alone. Future adopters should be comfortable catering to his preferred diet and quirks.

As with all ball pythons, Ball 5 is nocturnal and will thrive in a quiet, secure environment with proper heat, humidity, and hiding options. Ball pythons can live 30 years or more, so this sweet, soft-spoken snake is a long-term commitment—but one that will reward you with years of quiet companionship.

If you're patient, kind, and not afraid to serve up a fancy dinner, Ball 5 could be the perfect low-key addition to your reptile family

Paco

  • Paco isn’t just a ball python — she’s basically reptile royalty. This stunning girl was found in an army barracks over 30 years ago and has been lovingly cared for by the same owner ever since. After he recently passed away, his wife made the difficult decision to surrender Paco, wanting only the best for her as she enters her well-deserved golden years.

Despite her age, Paco is thriving. She’s a large, beautiful girl who handles like an absolute dream — calm, steady, and deeply accustomed to gentle interaction.

She previously ate live rats but has switched to frozen/thawed here at the rescue with zero hesitation (which we love her for).

Paco is looking for someone special who can give her a peaceful, loving retirement home. She’s spent three decades being adored, and she deserves to keep that streak going. If you want a sweet, mellow, beautifully seasoned python to share your life with, Paco would be honored to spend her twilight years by your side.

Darrell

  • Darrell is a mature, thoughtful ball python who’s come a long way during his time with us. At around 10 years old, he arrived shy and unsure about handling—but with patience and consistent care, he’s really opened up. These days, he’s often spotted exploring his enclosure, even during the day, and has become much more comfortable with gentle interaction.

While Darrell can still be a little timid at times, he handles it well and responds best to calm, confident handling. He’s a great example of how even "older" snakes can continue to settle and grow more social with time and trust.

Like all ball pythons, Darrell is nocturnal, prefers a stable environment with plenty of hiding spots, and has a potential lifespan of 30+ years. He would do well with someone who understands snake body language and can continue giving him the quiet, respectful care he’s learned to thrive under.

  • Eugene is a calm, easy-to-handle male ball python with a particular palate. At around 4 years old, he’s still a young adult with plenty of life ahead—ball pythons can live 30+ years with proper care, making them a long-term commitment.

Eugene is a picky eater who prefers frozen/thawed chicks and will only occasionally accept an ASF rat. Anyone considering adopting Eugene should be prepared to provide his preferred diet and keep a consistent feeding routine. He handles well and is generally calm, making him a great fit for someone who understands the quirks of selective eaters.

As a nocturnal species, ball pythons are most active at night and appreciate a quiet, low-stress environment during the day. Eugene will require a secure enclosure with proper temperature gradients, humidity, and hiding spots to feel safe and thrive.

We don’t know Spooky’s age or sex, but we do know this: she loves food, handles wonderfully, and has perfected the art of being shy, calm, and  sleepy. Honestly, if Spooky isn’t eating, she's probably napping. This is a snake with priorities.

If you’re looking for a chill, easygoing buddy with a fun origin story and a fondness for both snacks and snoozes, Spooky might be your perfect match. She's had enough unexpected adventures — now she's ready for a forever home that’s cozy, safe, and car-engine-free.

We don’t know his age or sex, and we don’t know his backstory — but what we do know is that none of that was his fault, and he deserves someone who will actually stick around for him.

He can get a little overenthusiastic at mealtimes, but outside of food mode he handles well and settles nicely. Despite everything, he’s calm, resilient, and ready for a home that treats him like a family member, not an afterthought.

Ball pythons can live for decades with proper care, so this guy has plenty of life left to enjoy. He’s looking for a loving forever home that won’t leave him behind when life gets complicated — a home where he’s wanted, safe, and finally home for good.

Boddie

  • Boddie showed up uninvited in someone’s yard like he owned the place—and honestly, we respect the confidence. With no background, no confirmed sex, and no idea how old he is, Boddie is a bit of a mystery, but what we do know is that he’s a pretty chill snake with a healthy appetite and a solid personality.

He’s an adult-sized ball python who rarely turns down a meal (frozen/thawed rats preferred) and generally handles well. That said, Boddie can be a little opinionated if you catch him in a mood—but who isn’t? With a stable routine and some gentle respect for his space, he’s easy to get along with.

Like all ball pythons, Boddie is nocturnal, enjoys a cozy hide, and could live 30+ years—so don’t let his surprise origin story fool you. He’s ready to settle down and live his best indoor life with a keeper who appreciates a little mystery and a lot of appetite.

Got space for a low-key legend with yard-snake energy? Boddie’s ready for his second act.

Dr. Hiss

  • Introducing the very distinguished (and very shy) Dr. Hiss. This 6-year-old male ball python came to us after being surrendered to a county animal shelter, and while he may be quiet, he has all the charm of a seasoned professional in the art of hiding.

Dr. Hiss is super shy—even by ball python standards—and prefers a calm, low-traffic environment where he can feel secure and take things at his own pace. Despite his reserved personality, he eats well most of the year, though he has a habit of putting himself on a “winter diet” to maintain his svelte figure. (We respect the self-control.)

As a ball python, Dr. Hiss is nocturnal, enjoys having plenty of hides to disappear into, and thrives with proper temperature and humidity control. With a potential lifespan of 30+ years, he’s a long-term companion best suited for someone who appreciates the quiet beauty of these gentle snakes and is patient enough to let his personality unfold in time.

If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key snake with excellent manners and a flair for modesty, Dr. Hiss might just be the right fit for your reptile roster.

Ball 2

  • Ball #2 came in from the same situation as Ball #1 — left behind when his owner left and didn’t bother to take his animals with him. But despite that rough ending to his last chapter, this boy is as steady and sweet as they come.

He’s got an absolutely stunning pattern, handles beautifully, and eats like a champ. Truly, he is the embodiment of “good snake energy.” Calm, polite, and just happy to be gently scooped up and admired — he’s the kind of python that makes you wonder how anyone could’ve ever left him behind.

Sex and age unknown. Ball pythons can live for decades, so he has plenty of time ahead of him to enjoy a real forever home — one where he’s valued, cared for, and never treated as disposable again. If you’re looking for a stunning, easygoing companion and want to rewrite his story with a much happier ending, this handsome guy is waiting.

OTHER SNAKES

Satan - Boa

  • Yes, his name is actually Satan — and no, we didn’t name him that ourselves. But… he kind of lives up to it.

Satan is a small Central American boa who makes up for his size with a big personality and zero patience for sudden movements. He’s not one for cuddles or casual handling (yet) and will happily strike first and ask questions later. He’s looking for a brave, experienced handler who’s not afraid of a little sass and is willing to put in the time to work with him at his own pace.

Despite his spicy streak, Satan has some lovable quirks—he’s an excellent eater, enjoys climbing enrichment, and loves to bury himself dramatically in his substrate. He’s not expected to get any bigger, but he is expected to keep being a whole lot of snake in a small package.

Sex not verified. Enclosure must be secure (obviously), and adopters must have previous experience with defensive or higher-energy boas.

Think you’re tough enough to give Satan a loving (and totally judgment-free) home? He dares you to fill out the application!

Cheeto - Corn Snake

  • Cheeto is a gorgeous 12-year-old corn snake who came to us after his family moved overseas. And let me tell you: this boy arrived with impeccable manners and a résumé that basically says “perfect, actually.”

He’s been wonderfully cared for his whole life, handles like a dream, eats like a professional, and is overall just an easygoing, delightful snake. Despite his crunchy-snack name, he is not at all spicy — he is mild, gentle, and absolutely ready for his next chapter.

Corn snakes can live 20+ years, so at around 12, Cheeto is just hitting his charming middle-aged era. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, well-socialized companion who blends seamlessly into your life (and occasionally into his décor), Cheeto might be your perfect match.

Ruby - Boa

  • Ruby has been with us for three years, and what a journey it’s been. She came in severely emaciated, along with another snake who sadly didn’t make it. But Ruby? Ruby is a fighter. She’s now at a beautiful, healthy weight, eats like a champ, and has slowly transformed into a strong, confident boa ready for her next chapter.

At 13+ years old, Ruby is no spring chicken—though don’t tell her that. She’s still full of sass during shed (she’ll very politely tell you to go away), and she can be a bit squirmy when handled, but she’s not aggressive—just opinionated, like any dignified lady of her age.

We truly adore this snake, and after everything she’s overcome, she deserves a home where she can be even more spoiled. Ruby is looking for a large, enriching enclosure where she can stretch out, bask in peace, and enjoy the comforts of retirement in style.

If you have experience with boas and want to give a special girl the golden years she’s earned, Ruby just might be your perfect match. Fair warning, we're going to be ultra picky about where this special girl spends the next chapter of her life!

Western Hognose #11

  • Hognose #11 is a beautiful young western hognose who came to us as part of a large surrender after her owner passed away. She may be petite, but she has a BIG personality and an impressive amount of zoom energy stored in that tiny body.

She’s currently eating frozen/thawed fuzzy mice like a pro, which we love to see. When you first approach her, she may give you a little hissy “Back up, human!” performance — but it’s all bark (well… hiss) and no bite. Once you’re actually handling her, she can be speedy, but nothing a confident keeper can’t manage.

With consistent handling and attention, she should settle in beautifully. Her exact age is unknown, but she’s estimated to be a young adult with plenty of years ahead of her to grow, mellow out, and become someone’s adorable, slightly dramatic sidekick.

If you’re looking for a hognose with personality and potential, #11 is ready to shine.

Naobi - Corn Snake

  • Naobi is a 9-year-old corn snake with the softest caramel coloring you’ve ever seen. She’s gentle, she’s calm, and she has absolutely zero interest in drama — unless you count her dramatic talent for curling herself into the perfect pretzel shape.

This girl eats like a champ, handles like a pro, and is basically the reptile equivalent of a warm hug. If you’ve been looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who won’t judge your life choices, Naobi is ready to be your low-maintenance bestie.

If your idea of a perfect evening includes gentle handling sessions and admiring a caramel masterpiece in motion, Naobi can’t wait to slither right into your heart... and your home.

Western Hognose #14

  • Hognose #14 is another lovely girl from the same large surrender, and she came in with a personality that can only be described as 70% spice, 100% adorable. She is absolutely full of sass — lots of dramatic hissing, plenty of attitude, and zero actual biting. She’s all theater, no fangs.

She’s been eating frozen/thawed fuzzy mice like a champ here at the rescue, which is always a huge win. With handling, she’s got some pep in her step, but nothing a confident keeper can’t manage. And with regular, gentle interaction, she’s going to mellow out beautifully as she learns that humans aren’t so bad after all.

If you’re looking for a hognose with personality, spunk, and a whole lot of charm packed into a small wiggly body, #14 is your girl. She’s dramatic in all the best ways and absolutely ready for a home that appreciates her flair.

Tycho - California King

  • Tycho is an 8-year-old California kingsnake who is almost 7 feet long and 100% sweetheart. He’s the definition of “long handsome noodle,” and he genuinely loves calm handling and gentle interaction.

Tycho does have a neurological condition that gives him a wobble and some quirky neck movements. It also means eating can be a little tricky for him — many times you just have to place the meal in front of him and let him get there in his own time. Because of this, Tycho will need an experienced home that’s comfortable monitoring his condition and making sure he’s eating safely and consistently.

We aren’t entirely sure what his long-term prognosis or lifespan will look like, but what we do know is that Tycho has so much love left to give. He’s calm, sweet, and wonderfully unique — a special boy looking for a special person who sees his wobble not as a flaw, but as part of his charm.

TURTLES/TORTOISES

Theo - RedFoot Tortoise

  • Theo is a young red-footed tortoise with a calm and quiet nature. At around 3–4 years old, he’s on the smaller side for his species and has some minor pyramiding on his shell but is otherwise in good health. Theo is a steady eater and enjoys a varied, nutritious diet. While he may be a bit shy at first, he does well with gentle, consistent care and would thrive in a home that understands the needs of red-footed tortoises.

Red-footed tortoises are a long-term commitment—they can live 40–50 years or more with proper care. Potential adopters should be prepared to provide both an appropriate indoor habitat for colder months and a safe, secure outdoor space for warmer weather. These tortoises require high humidity, UVB lighting when housed indoors, and access to a variety of grasses, hay, leafy greens, vegetables, occasional fruits, and a small amount of animal protein.

If you’re ready to offer a lifetime of care and a proper setup for this unique little guy, Theo may be the perfect addition to your family!

IGUANAS

We’ve removed our iguanas from the website—not because they’re all adopted, but because every available iguana currently in our care is an adult male who has been with us for several years. These boys are not tame, not cuddly, and not used to regular handling.

We are still full and unable to take in more iguanas at this time, and we would still love to find the right forever homes for the ones already here. They deserve to spend their lives as the kings of their own space, where they can be respected and cared for without the expectation of affection or interaction they may never want.

If you have experience with large iguanas and can offer a safe, spacious, and appropriate enclosure for one who prefers to be admired from afar, please reach out. We’re happy to talk with you about the individual animals we have and help you determine if one of them might be the right fit.
